If you are interested in the science of
identification, you should be associated with the Iowa Division of the International
Association for Identification. Membership categories are as follows:
Active
Persons who are engaged in the science of
identification, investigation or scientific examination of evidence, who are bona-fide
employees of and are receiving salaries from national, state, county, or municipal
governments, or some sub-division thereof, and who are actively engaged in the practice of
the profession within the state of Iowa.
Life Active
Limited to otherwise active members of
the association who have paid their dues and assessments for the past twenty-five years or
who have at the time of retirement or commencement of disability pension have paid their
dues and assessments for the past ten years. Life active membership shall be granted upon
application to and approval from the elected officers on Board of Directors. Life active
members shall be excused from paying membership dues for the remainder of their life. They
shall, however pay that portion of the conference registration fees which is necessary to
cover the actual costs incurred by the association by the members attendance thereto. Life
active members shall be eligible to vote and shall be entitled to all the privileges of
the active member.
Associate
All reputable persons, wholly or
partially engaged in any of the various phases of identification, investigation, or
scientific examination of evidence and who do not qualify for active membership are
eligible for associate membership status. They shall in all aspects be subject to the same
rules, and fees, and shall be entitled to the same rights and privileges as active
members, except that they shall not be entitled to vote or hold office.
